A Network of Community Facilities Thinking about your community facilities as a network across your town, city or region improves the likelihood that these facilities are fully utilised. Using community facilities for different purposes throughout the day, school prize givings, meetings, dance classes or sports activity means that the facility is optimally occupied and the area around the facility is activated. More people movement in an area makes the area safer. You can see Queenstown Lakes District community facilities strategy here and the Selwyn District Council network plan here.
